Ice fishing ..
Mar 01st, 2010, 3:04pm

Well we really have had a cold winter ... today there was 11 ice shanties off shore here along the Reno shoreline, farthest out was maybe 5/600 yards.
During the spring/summer there are maybe 2 commercial net fishermen in this area, they lay the inshore bouy maybe 30 ft from shore, then stretch out from there 100 yds..
Seems they know the fish are closer to shore.

well ... the last few days of the temperature in the 40's has made the ice unsafe .. finally !

Edited:
Today .. March 19, the ice on the lake is gone, just yesterday the ice was still 500 yds off the shore.

Well Summer weather for next 6 days (had 1 already) .... The wind may have finally died down, so the fishing might be good tomorrow and the rest of the week.
